No indeed. I've been known to pass on the occasional bit of mail to 'BPQ (mail me
and ask nicely), but otherwise it's G8BPQ@GB7BAD.#23.GBR.EU.

To: ham-digital@ucsd.edu
Hello netters,
Is there someone who have a drawing to make a packet radio modul (the
modul between the computer and the transmittor)?
I don't know if it is important, but I have a 27MC transmittor.
Please response by Email ,because I haven't mutch time to read news.
With Greetings Ernst van Spronsen.

Sorry for any added confusion. My use of 'Mecca' here was as in "a place
that is regarded as the center of an activity or interest". Sort of the
sanctum of ham radio ftp, which in this case I believe to be ucsd.edu. It
was not intended to be a site name.
Thanks to tk@sequent.com (Tom Kloos) for pointing out the possible confusion.

I use JNOS (latest version) and it works fine in a dos window (so far).
I use it to connect via slip to my work systems. I`m still for something
else (PC-TCP ?) better though.

Subject: KISS mode problems with Tiny 2 (DCD)
To: ham-digital@ucsd.edu
I have a problem with my PacComm Tiny 2 in KISS mode. The TNC seems to be
in FULL Duplex mode while in KISS mode. I have set PARAM 5 to 0 but the TNC
will still key when the DCD is activated. The TNC will not key when the DCD
is activated if it is in normal command mode.
Is this a problem already found? And if so has PacComm fixed this in later
versions of their EPROM ? My version information is...

On what band? FM with that bandwidth is really
only practical in the microwave bands (10 or 24 GHz), where modulation is
commonly done with a varactor or directly to the gunn diode. Have you
thought about spread spectrum? You could probably use the 906-928MHz band,
and achieve reasonable process gain with the spreading codes U.S. hams
are allowed. The ckts for the modulator and demodulator can be just
microstrip transmission lines for phasing, and then balanced double
balanced modulators. Of course, there is some digital stuff required to
generate the spreading codes, sync the things up, and separate the data,
but I notice you use the term 'chip set' so I think you probably are used
to digital stuff <Grin!>.
PS. what is your call sign? (You are licenced, right?)

I'm looking for a chipset to transmit data over a short distance. We've
found a wideband FSK receiver from Motorola that supports 2Mbaud (MC13055),
but we they don't seem to have a transmitter for it. Their tech support
claims the MC2833 will work, but it appears to be AFSK.
We're wanting to transmit 200kbps at least, and higher if possible
(1 Mbps is our goal). Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Marc

Hello dear reader,
Today I distributed the file NET_Mac2.3.36.sea.hqx...
In this version of NET/Mac I implemented the following:
- Fixes for AddResMenu() bug in System 7.1.1
- 'sourcewhendone' command incorrectly kept track of linkstatus
The reason for sending out 2.3.36 so soon after the release of 2.3.35 is
because I noticed that when using system 7.1.1 (System 7 Pro) the order
in which the HELP-topics are displayed was more or less random.
This problem has been fixed in 2.3.36.
This version obsoletes all versions of info-mac/comm/radio-netmac in the
Sumex-Aim archives.
The new NET/Mac has been uploaded to ucsd.edu, to the directory
/hamradio/packet/tcpip/incoming. If it's not there (anymore),
then look at /hamradio/packet/tcpip/mac.
Kind regards,

my outside J-pole. No problem in that case.

Just ordered a PK232MBX multimode controler and have a couple of questions:
1) Anyone have any experiences they'd like to share?
2) Anyone have any suggestions on a packet terminal program.
Please reply via email, I'll summerize if requested.

We certainly *do* have the right when he costs us a large amount of
money by posting to every single group on USENET, after which we have
to pay *again* for all of the cancel articles his sysadmin sent out.
Multiply my costs by all of the other sites, and he cost the net a hell
